Stephanie Hoffman

Stephanie has been actively painting and creating for over 20 years. After receiving a BFA from the University of Georgia in 2006, Stephanie dove into the creative industry of Atlanta, immersing herself amid artists, designers, and the like. Fascinated by organic patterns that can be found in the smallest of cells to the largest galaxies, Stephanie dedicates her time to exploring hand drawn symmetry, patterns, and textures in her work.

Experimenting with dimensional watercolor, and dichroic glass beadwork, she is consistently working to evolve her style and create new, innovative pieces of art. All of Stephanie’s works begin with no preplanned design, allowing the color, material, etc to reveal itself throughout the process. Watercolor brings a richness of tone, even when working in blacks and greys, and the incandescent interaction of the dichroic glass with light brings her work to a new dimension. Stephanie currently lives and works in Atlanta, as both an artist, as well as the Director of Operations at DAC Art Consulting.

Artist Statement

My work explores transformation through accumulation—how small, deliberate actions can build into complex, immersive systems. Across materials and processes, I am drawn to repetition, fragmentation, and reconstruction as a way of understanding growth, time, and change.

Working across multiple series, I use distinct materials and methods to investigate a shared visual language. Repurposed objects, hand-cut fragments, painted forms, and light-reactive surfaces are each developed through intensive, meditative processes. Thousands of individual elements are assembled by hand, forming fields that oscillate between structure and fluidity. Some pieces grow outward like living systems, while others are carefully engineered into symmetry or dissolve into shifting light. Across all of them, the act of making remains central—labor becomes rhythm, and repetition becomes a way of seeing.

At a distance, the work often reads as unified and atmospheric. Up close, it reveals its true nature: a record of time, attention, and touch. Each piece holds both the immediacy of visual impact and the quiet evidence of its construction. Through this practice, I am interested in how material, process, and perception intersect—how something built slowly, piece by piece, can transform not only itself, but the way it is experienced.
