Of Prism And Plane
Of Prism and Plane explores subtle transformation through reflection, repetition, and restraint. Each work is built by hand, placing dichroic glass beads one by one onto a painted surface, forming slow-moving patterns that shift across the plane.
Unlike more overtly dimensional materials, these elements respond to light rather than dominate it. Color emerges and recedes depending on the viewer’s position—appearing momentarily, then dissolving back into the surface. What seems minimal at first reveals a complex field of movement and variation.
The compositions unfold in gentle, wave-like formations, suggesting currents, topographies, or atmospheric drift. Through thousands of small, deliberate placements, the work becomes both structured and ephemeral—precise in its making, yet elusive in its perception.
Rooted in patience and repetition, this series invites a quieter kind of looking. It asks the viewer to slow down, to shift perspective, and to notice how light itself becomes the primary medium—activating the work in ways that are never fixed, only experienced.
